Sherri Sanders serves as the Senior Director of External Partnerships and a Senior Research Associate at the University of Colorado Boulder. As senior director of external partnerships, Dr. Sanders collaborates with NCWIT’s senior leadership to establish and execute NCWIT’s strategic fundraising vision and strategy to secure philanthropic and mission-driven investments from private foundations, corporations, and individual donors to support the mission of broadening participation in the technology ecosystem, spanning K-12, Higher Education, and Industry. Before assuming this role, she served as NCWIT’s Director of Higher Education and BridgeUP STEM.
Prior to joining NCWIT in 2017, Dr. Sanders was a senior-level administrator at The University of Texas at Austin for 29 years serving as an associate dean of students, associate vice president, and a clinical associate professor within the department of educational administration. Throughout her tenure at UT Austin, she received numerous awards, including the Parents’ Association Outstanding Student Affairs Administrator Award and the Margaret C. Berry Outstanding Contribution to Student Life Award. She was also selected to represent the university in the prestigious Leadership Texas class of 1999. In 2004, she was honored as a participant in the Fulbright Scholar Program in Germany.
