Katherine Novinski, Director, Implementation and Partnership, leads CEI’s portfolio of Career-Connected Learning implementation projects and career-connected learning team. Katherine has led CEI’s work in our Rural Coaction and Opportunity Now projects with rural regions, where CEI partners with regions and districts across the state of Colorado to develop career-connected learning programs and systems that lead to student access and attainment of the Big Three (college credit, work-based learning, and industry recognized credentials).
Katherine started her career in public education, spending five years teaching high school math in Baltimore City and DC, before transitioning to a role at DC Public Schools (DCPS), where she co-developed and launched an internship program for DCPS seniors. As DCPS Career Preparation Manager, she managed DCPS industry partnerships and work-based learning programs for DCPS students. Katherine joined Colorado Education Initiative in 2021 with an interest and passion in helping districts across the state develop career-connected learning programs that can lead to increased economic mobility for Colorado students. Katherine has a M.S. Education from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
